You can find the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine. Maine was a hotbed of ship building for decades partially due to shallow shores leading to deep water.
The site of the Maritime museum was a sailing ship building yard with large six masted schooners being build here. Much of the ship building facilities is still in place and on display.
In addition, the museum has a considerable display of ship history shown in a beautiful display area.
