The entrance and museum for the Gateway Arch in St Louis have been totally remodeled and we wanted to check out the new exhibits. It has been 30 years since we were last there and decided it was time to see it again.

This is the view from inside the entrance looking towards the Old Courthouse |
The museum has a display showing house construction techniques in early st Louis |
Walls were made by placing logs vertically into the ground and plastering between them |
Further thru the museum are great displays showing the history of the arch, cross sections of the design, movies of it being built and examples of how the capsules that carry you to the top operate.

This gives an example of the views you will see from the top |
This exhibit gives an overview of the talents involved in the design, engineering and construction of the arch |
We purchased tickets to ride the capsules to the top to enjoy the view overlooking the city
Lining up for the ride back down |
There was a well done display showing an earlier St Louis as a river port with a variety of steam boats tied up at the Wharf |
Time to head out and explore the Old Courthouse |
Several famous court cases were determined here! |
