Bass Harbor is everything you'd expect from a harbor of Maine lobster boats.

The harbor is protected by a signal light maintained by the Coast Guard. This is a popular light to photograph as being 'Quintessential Maine'. You have to work a bit to get the image however. |

After waiting for a while to get a parking spot you have an easy walk to this view of the light house and interpretive signage. |

The other end of the parking lot is where you'll find the trail to the rocks below for the popular shot. |

Once you are on the rocks you begin to pick your way among them to move towards the water. |

Eventually you begin to see the light and can compose your picture. |
