Ouray Historical Museum

The Ouray County Historical Museum is located in the former Miners Hospital in Ouray Colorado.

They have done a good job of gathering historical artifacts related to most everything that has happened in the county over the years. I find the mining and railroad history of great interest, but they cover everything including ranching, changing technology, fashions, toys, living quarters and much more.

The town of Red Mountain, located at the top of the pass by the same name is modelled. We explored this area by Jeep earlier in the year. It is nice to see it again in miniature.

This image of the snowshed covering the Corkscrew Turntable was one I had not seen before.

Restored log cabin and typical furnishings of the era
