Mining Museum

The Western Museum of Mining and Industry can be found a little ways north of Colorado Springs on Interstate 25. This is a museum that gives a good overview of the mining industry from its earliest days to the present.

Considerable historic equipment is preserved.


This steam shovel is operated in the summer using compressed air to power it.






Many examples of minerals are on display


Panning for gold is fun for all ages
