We are starting to get some bicycle ride time in in preparation for riding across Missouri on the KATY bicycle trail later in the year. The KATY trail is a former railroad grade now used as a cross state bicycle trail. It is relatively flat and has a limestone base.
We wanted to see how our trikes did on a similar surface so we traveled to the west side of town and rode the former railroad grade in our area.
We did pretty good - the weather was great and the ride was enjoyable. We only went about 7 miles, but that is a start to getting ready for the much longer trip.

Model Railroad Figure Modifications
This was the weekend for the local model railroad show. We attended a clinic on modifying and painting scale model figures. They did a great job of showing how to change standard figures to your era and dress style and then paint realistically.
