April in the Mountains

A stop on the way out

We took a break at the Kinsley KS rest stop. It has a lot to offer for a small town including a steam engine you can climb into the cab of.

 Snow is Melting

The deep snows from a few weeks ago are disappearing fast.

The Steller's Jays are most happy to see us and have the entire flock eating off the deck

Civil War Garb

We are expecting to support the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln funeral procession. To that end we have acquired clothing appropriate to the era. This has been quite the learning experience regarding material types, shoe styles, eye wear, hats and bonnets and choice of persona. My persona is that of a business man engaged in the frozen water trade. This was the forerunner to how foods were kept cool prior to refrigeration. I've been doing a lot of research to be able to speak accurately about the subject.

So serious!
