Bus ride through the mountains

I had occasion to ride the Durango and Silverton bus to Silverton through the southwest Colorado mountains at the height of the fall color change. It was a great trip with a driver who was also an excellent tour guide.

This driver know the history of the area and pointed out the old travel routes from days past, types of trees and wildlife, explained some of the politics that led to opening up the area and stopped the bus for the riders to take pictures of the wonderful fall colors.
