Water for the Critters

One of our neighbors mentioned filling his bird bath which got me thinking of the need to put out water for the various critters and birds here on the mountain.

We ended up purchasing two of the pans that go under hot water heaters to catch leaks. One is set on the ground for the chipmunks and the other on a wooden base for the birds.

One has the bottom covered with glass beads from the dollar store and the other has stones from the same place. The drain plug on the side can be removed for draining and refilling the container. A shot of copper paint completes the task.
