Acadia

We made it to Acadia National Park on the Coast of Maine. What a fine place to explore!

We traveled to the top of Cadillac Mountain and enjoyed the views in all directions

There is a paved walkway that loops around the top with periodic interpretive signage. A cruise ship had stopped this particular day.

We next travelled on the Park's Loop Road and explored the coast.

This is Thunder Hole. An underground cave captures air when the surf is up and creates a loud sound. Visitors gather around the inlet and wait for the 'Right" wave to make the sound.

One of the nicest surprises to us was heading to Schoodic Point. This particular section of the park is known for the breaking waves making large clouds of spray when they come upon the rocks. People gather to photograph the scene. Hurricane Hermione provided enough wave action to make the trip worthwhile.

Sunset along the coast offers many opportunities for the photographer

I'm ready to go back...

  1. We will have to go see Acadia sometime, how beautiful! Love the selfie. Those last few sunset shots are frame worthy.
