2016 Narrow Gauge Convention - 7/8th scale

One of the clinics at the 2016 National Narrow Gauge Convention dealt with the scale of 2 foot gauge railroad equipment running on G scale track. G scale track when scaled for two foot gauge track width comes out to be one thirteenth full size. This clinic showed examples of what is known as 7/8th scale or 7/8N2.

I was particularly impressed by the creation of railroad models from utility boxes sold at Staples.

These innovative railway cars were made from plastic utility boxes from an office supply store.

Flat cars are made from the lids of the utility boxes

Live steam engines are available in this scale
