Spencer, NC is the home of the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
This is a large facility that includes a museum of automobiles, a classic steam engine roundhouse filled with classic train engines, modular model railroads, railroad passenger cars and specialty displays that change regularly - when we visited the display was of eccentric bicycles which was very interesting.

Another building is dedicated to changing displays, in this case Eccentric Bicycles |
We also discovered the soft drink Cheerwine is bottled in the area. We had never heard of it and tried some at a local restaurant and found it to be tasty.
