While heading home from the National Narrow Gauge Convention we stopped in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to spend the night in the Frank Lloyd Wright designed.Price Tower.
The concrete is all colored the "Cherokee Red" Mr. Wright enjoyed |
The lighting and elevator indicators are highly styled |
The museum found within the building gives a well done overview of the history and develpment of the structure. |
FLW's mother provided him with building blocks as a child to help influence spatial development |
The museum shows examples of the furniture designed for the building |
A small restaurant is located in the main floor of the building. |
This image highlights the elevator access and layout |
I especially like the sun dial |
The room was attractive, the beds comfortable, the architecture wonderful and the view was fabulous. |
Also to be found in Bartlesville OK is one the last of the 2-10-2 'Santa Fe' style locomotives |
Locomotive is found alongside the nicely preserved railroad station |
Lots to enjoy in and around Bartlesville - well worth your time to visit. |
