We found a memorial to Walter Cronkite in St. Joseph, Missouri. Walter Cronkite was a well respected news commentator who we watched on TV when I was growing up. His coverage of the assassination of President John F Kennedy still is etched in my memory.
The Memorial is located in the lobby of a building on Missouri Western State University campus and includes photographs, mementos, a replica of his broadcast booth and numerous video clips of some of his famous broadcasts.
These include broadcasts of our various space program launches and recoveries, Presidential political conventions, the shooting and death of President Kennedy and the brokering of the Middle East Peace Accords

Upon entry you are presented with a variety of selections of some of his more famous broadcasts. I watched several including the one telling of the death of President Kennedy |

I think she could have had an alternative career |
...And that's the way it is...
I can still hear and “see” him as he announced the death of President Kennedy. He removed his eye glasses and paused…it summed up the shock of the nation. I enjoyed reading about his family. Excellent post. Thank you! -Carol
