West End Architectural Salvage in Des Moines, Iowa

We found that one of the highlights to a trip to Des Moines, Iowa is an opportunity to visit the Architectural Salvage store.

They have been in business for years and are known for buying interesting items from buildings that are being demolished and have components worth reselling.

So many interesting things to see.

Lots of stained glass

The building hosts weddings and parties and has a bar and dance floor

there are four floors of items for sale

I thought this was a striking design

Large mirrors are great for selfies

This table includes a resin insert that is smoothed and polished

it makes for a stunning table

Beautiful doors

Framed plans for a model airplane!?

Nice thing about big mirrors is you can get pretty decent self portraits. You can get coffee from the Barista to sip as you tour the building.

This reminds me of the incense burners used in religious ceremonies

Typesettting equipment

Pinewood Derby racers

Stairway between levels

A great place to visit...
