Gary L Haller Trail
Spent some time in Kansas City this weekend and had a chance to ride the Gary L. Haller Trail. This is a wonderful recreation trail which winds thru the city and connects with other bike trails.
It is paved and follows the terrain of the land which results in some rather steep grades - great going downhill and a workout when going up.

Knute Rockne Memorial
One of the Interstate rest stops on I-35 in Kansas has a memorial to Knute Rockne, the famous Notre Dame football coach.
He was a passenger on an aircraft that encountered icing conditions and crashed in the Flint Hills of Kansas in 1931. There were no survivors.
