Canal Park

Duluth Minnesota is a major shipping port and has a long maritime history. This history is well documented in their Maritime Museum located at a park located next to the entrance canal that leads into the port. A variety of displays and beautiful ship models are to be found.

This area is known as Canal Park and is a major draw to the Duluth downtown area.

There is a road bridge that crosses the entrance to the harbor and must be raised whenever a ship or boat needs clearance. This has become a gathering place for folks who wish to relax and watch ships enter.
