The Upper Great Lakes is a flyway for many raptor birds. Eagles and hawks abound in the area and then follow the Mississippi River to nesting sites. People travel to this area to observe the flight of the raptors and count their numbers.
This many birds results in some of them being injured under a variety of circumstances. When this happens the University of Minnesota has established a Raptor Centers where injured birds are brought for treatment. One center is at the University in St Paul. Another Raptor Center is found along the Mississippi River at the National Eagle Center.

One eagle is a permanent resident because it is too friendly. It lands of golfers carts, picnic tables, automobile mirrors and other locations near to humans. This is a scary bird that alarms most who are near it. The eagle was relocated to a remote location, but its desire to be near humans continued so it was relocated to the Raptor Center to keep it from harm.
The Eagle Center is located alongside the Mississippi River and has an education center and a variety of birds on display.

This is fascinating and a place I would enjoy seeing! As a fan of John James Audubon and a former resident of his home town, I have become a bird lover! Thanks for sharing!
