Sault Saint Marie has a well done museum ship called the 'Valley Camp'. It was an ore carrier on the lakes and has been retired and put on display.
Unlike other ore carriers we visited this one includes a large maritime museum in the cargo holds.
They have the remains of the 'Edmund Fitzgerald' life boats as well as the crushed marker buoys from marking the wreck - a sign of the power of the storms as they imploded due to pressure from being pushed underwater during a severe storm.
