Aircraft Modelers Museum

Muncie Indiana is the home of the National Model Aviation Museum.

It is located on a 1000 acre site where national competitions of model aircraft enthusiasts take place. When we were there the competition for precision aerobatics was taking underway.

The museum documents the entire history of model aircraft development over the decades.

This type flying toy was given to the Wright brothers as children by their father

This is the inside of a typical 1950's hobby shop

A rather complete exhibit of fuel model aircraft engines

The exhibit for various radio control sets included comment slips by museum goers on their favorites.

This model has scale thickness aluminum sheets applied over a fiberglass fuselage to give the appearance of panel thickness
