Canals


Outside of Grand Rapids, Ohio is a very nice park that preserves a part of the canal used to move freight around Ohio. The park contains a water powered mill that also generated electricity for the area for years and was the local sawmill.



There is a canal boat that is towed down the canal by mules and travels thru the the lock

Both flour and corn are ground in the mill using a process that retains all of the nutrients

We obtained a variety of freshly ground grains from the mill...
