Frank Lloyd Wright in Kankakee Illinois

We had the opportunity to visit a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Kankakee, Illinois. This was the first home of what came to be known as his Prairie Style architecture.

The home is known as the Bradley House and is open for tours.

The art glass windows in this house incorporate a tulip motif and are striking

This view shows how the home is "planted" using shapes to blend the home into the ground and tapers to the walls mimicking the taper of a tree. I can only imagine the construction issues caused by this taper to the walls.
